It’s Back to School Time.
Hello from No Child Goes Hungry! I hope you’ve had a good summer and school is starting soon in so many places around the country. NCGH has been busy this summer working with different groups and programs that help to eliminate childhood hunger, especially our Little Free Pantry project. As we lean into the new school year, we are very aware that so many kids will need food on the weekend and holidays. As NCGH continues to grow and partner with schools, we are working to make sure every kid, of all ages, has enough to eat every day.
Below are two such partnership with elementary schools, one in Syracuse, New York and one close to home in Chantilly, Virginia. Your support makes this happen and ensures so many meals are provided to those in need.
Thank you for your donations, ideas and support on so many levels. We can make sure no child goes hungry- one meal and one kid at a time.
NCGH Supports Dulles South Food Pantry and Hutchison Farm Elementary

No Child Goes Hungry (NCGH), a non-profit providing grant money and mentorship to community organizations that build hunger advocacy programs, has made a $1,000 donation to the Dulles South Food Pantry® (DSFP). The funds will be used to help support DSFP’s Backpack Buddies program at Hutchinson Farm Elementary School, which aims to help ensure kids have nutritious food on the weekend when schools are closed.

DSFP is a multi-faith food pantry that provides nutritious food, personal supplies, and other services to those in need in Dulles South and the surrounding area regardless of income, faith or other criteria and strives to promote self-sufficiency. In addition to the food that is provided to families, the DSFP also operates a Backpack Buddies Program. Fifteen local schools participate in this program, which gives supplemental food for the weekend to students who might otherwise go hungry. Each week, DSFP packs approximately 200 Backpack Buddies bags, 40 of which are sent to Hutchison Farm Elementary School.
“We are pleased to provide funds to DSFP to help support the critical work they are doing in the Dulles South and surrounding areas,” said No Child Goes Hungry Director Kären Rasmussen. “DSFP is helping us to achieve our goal of ensuring that no child goes hungry. We are thrilled to have found another valuable partnership as we work toward of goal. Let’s feed some kids.”
NCGH Donates $1000 to Syracuse School

No Child Goes Hungry (NCGH), a non-profit providing grant money and mentorship to community organizations that build hunger advocacy programs, has made a $1,000 donation to the Syracuse City School District’s Blessings in a Backpack program. The donation is being directed to Dr. King Elementary School where it will be used to provide ten children with food over the weekend for an entire school year. The Blessings in a Backpack program offers a means to provide food for children within the City of Syracuse who are in food-insecure households.
Wishing you a wonderful Fall as we work together to make sure every child has enough to eat.
