No Child Goes Hungry (NCGH) is pleased to support Hunger Fight’s Miracle Math program and Thanksgiving Packing event. Hunger Fight is a 501(C)3 nonprofit agency whose mission is to end hunger and illiteracy by providing nutritious meals and books to children, seniors, and families in need by informing, engaging, and mobilizing communities and partners. Through Hunger Fight’s innovative Miracle Math program, it turns every $11 donation into 32 children’s meals and one book, and every $22 donation creates 64 meals and two books. The initiative supports the organization’s commitment to feeding children’s’ bellies and their brains.
According to a representative from Hunger Fight, the organization’s goal is to impact some of the poorest and neediest areas of its Jacksonville, Florida community.
“Studies show that early access to nutrition and books can provide a platform for academic success later in life,” she said. “Our Miracle Math program is dependent upon the monetary support of corporations and individuals who believe in our mission, and the thousands of volunteers who help us each year to pack and distribute the food to the thousands of children and families who we are serving. We are so grateful to No Child Goes Hungry for offering financial support for this year’s event.”
On Tuesday, November 23, Hunger Fight packed over 300,000 meals. A statement on the organization’s Facebook page stated:
“A huge THANK YOU to all our Community Partners and volunteers for making this year another success, especially during these difficult times. We would like to express our gratitude to everyone for all the support you continue to provide. Your generosity and commitment to our community makes this a great place to live and work. Together, we have made tremendous progress in providing nutritious meals for children, seniors and families throughout Northeast Florida and books to preschoolers. Through the power of making a difference, you are improving lives – ‘Food for their Bellies – Books for their Brains.’”
Kären Rasmussen, No Child Goes Hungry Founder and Director, said she is pleased to support a charitable organization committed to nourishing children’s bodies and minds, particularly in underrepresented communities.
“We are thrilled to offer our financial support to Hunger Fight, and it’s Miracle Math program,” said Rasmussen. “I am amazed by the tremendous impact that the organization is making thanks to the help of its dedicated volunteers and its innovative partnerships. I’m excited to continue watching their progress and growth as they support those in need in their community.”
