No Child Goes, Hungry, Inc. (NCGH) is pleased to support the hunger advocacy work of Food for Thought Alaska (FFTA), an organization working to eliminate hunger and food waste in Southcentral Alaska through story sharing and community collaborations. NCGH donated compostable food items and cutlery to FFTA to support its community fridge and backpack program outreach efforts.
“People just don’t understand how important it is to have something to eat the donated food with,” said NCGH Founder and Director Kären Rasmussen about her donation to FFTA. “No Child Goes Hungry is committed to supporting hunger advocacy organizations like FFTA however they most need it. Donating cutlery and other food items is a sustainable and impactful way to support FFTA’s amazing efforts to ensure no child goes hungry. I’m pleased we were able to partner together.”
“FFTA is a mutual aid organization based in Anchorage, Alaska focused on feeding neighbors and limiting food waste,” said Ziona Brownlow, FFTA Founder & Development Coordinator. “Our community fridge network recently launched its first site in the Mountain View neighborhood, an area with complex needs and scarce resources that has been identified by the USDA as a target in-need community. As we grow and scale and identify new needs to support families suffering from food insecurity, we are grateful for donations and partnerships from organizations like No Child Goes Hungry.”
Let’s feed some kids!
